Marseille's Seaside
written by champi on May 9th, 2008 (0 votes)

I’m more a mountain boy than a seaside guy, I mean I like chilling on the beach, but I get bored after a few hours (not to say minutes)… But this seaside is different… First of all, apart for the artificial people-filled sand beaches near the town center, you will hardly find some sand around Marseilles but only limestone carved and sometimes even polished by the sea and the wind. And that’s what makes it great to my eyes, the wildness of this rocky landscape diving directly into the green-blue sea, of the mistral wind which is quite always blowing in this place, and of the wave breaking on the rocks.

Sometimes anyway the wind calms down a little bit, more likely in the evening, and in summer days it can be a great time for a romantic picnic with your girl/boy friend watching the sun set behind the sea, or for a cool party with friends and beers (no fires allowed yet) till the sun rises again!

It’s also a cool place to swim, dive or do crazy jumps in the water as you can easily find some deep places for this… Better on windless days cause I don’t know if you won’t freeze before the wind dries you up on mistral days!
Speaking about Lomography, it’s a cool spot to shoot sunsets, and can be also a beautiful background for your film-swapping doubles! And of course a great fiesta pics place, but which place isn’t?!
