Market of Artists and Designers, in short and commonly known as MAAD, is a market for original creative works in the field of fashion, art, craft and design. It happens on every first Saturday and Sunday of the month at the Red Dot Design Museum.
Each stall is filled by artists and designers with their very own creative original works and designs. Some have their art pieces on the sale, others have works of art showcased to the public. The people of MAAD ensure that only original and interesting creative works are presented. Even performances, live street art could be found there.
Not to forget the Portrait Day by the Organization of Illustrators Council. There they will have your portrait drawn by, not one, but a number of artists and illustrators. You’ll get to pick which are the art pieces you want. And on the record, on 6th & 7th Oct 2007, a Lomographic Exhibition (by Lomotion Singapore) was held there!! Displaying huge walls of photos submitted by as many as 40 Lomographers of Singapore. It was definitely a memorable exhibition. Hopefully, more exhibitions like these will be organized in the future.
