Landungsbrücken (Hamburg)

Mich zieht die Sehnsucht weit in die blaue Ferne…

Hamburg, the town where I would love to live one day. The Landungsbrücken are the best reached by S-Bahn or Underground. Take the U3 from “Hauptbahnhof” and leave directly in “Landungsbrücken”. A new world opens there. Tourists, harbour boats, big ferries, steamships, sailors who play shanties. It’s always busy and always full of things to look at. In summer the wind carries the smell of fish and salty sea water, in winter you can watch the many lights on the other side of the harbour where all the industrial buildings are. Just take a seat on one of the many benches and close your eyes. Then listen to the many sounds around you. And: it’s a wonderful place to take pictures – boats, funny people, sailors, ships, seagulls. I stop there every time when I’m in Hamburg.
