Kaunas Jazz festival

Festivals are always good. Why? Because you can change the routine of your day by dancing, singing and of course doing all the crazy LOMO things in the crowd. Kaunas Jazz festival started even in 1991 and today it is one of the biggest that kind of festivals not only in Lithuania, but even in the Eastern Europe.

What can you find there? Open-air concerts in the main areas of Kaunas, lots of concerts in the concert-halls and one very very interesting thing – concerts inside of churches. And I am speaking not only about one or two – the Jazz fever gets everywhere… Synagogues are full of different religion people, but there are always somebody from Israel. And not only someone, who can play the guitar. No, no way – real and very popular in the world Jazz artists and bands. And trust me – the sound inside of the church is very different from the sound that you hear in specialized concert-halls. For example, this year I was in two open-air festivals, but they are late-night things, so could not take my camera with me, as I have broken flashes all around. Anyway, the two other concerts inside of the churches were awesome.

People happy, everyone doing crazy stuff, feeling free – you can stand up, close your eyes and wave your arms in the air, and nobody will tell you it’s bad to do like that inside of the church. It’s Jazz, baby! And jazz music is all about feeling happy, free and groovy… If you are in Lithuania in the end of April (every year), so do not loose the chance to see the best jazz bands in Kaunas Jazz festival! For more information, go to http://www.kaunasjazz.lt/index.php?lan=EN&id=1 There you can find all the artists and participants from the beginning of the festival, so you will understand that I am talking about a serious thing. But wait – jazz can’t be serious! It"s simply awesome…
