Greenwich is well known for the international time meridian, but it’s also a nice borough of London. Sure, the main attraction is the central green park of the city with the observatory in it and the famous line of the 0°0’ meridian line. A little museum about the fantastic adventure of time setting and fixing the 0°0’ at this exact place is very interesting too.
You can’t miss the way to the park, it’s indicated everywhere in the city… When you arrive in the park, climb up the little hill in front of you to the observatory and if the weather is fine, you can have a whole view over London! Arriving to the observatory and the famous 0°0’ line we made a little experience with a friend. He had a little Palm PDA with GPS and wanted to check if the perfect 0°0’0’’ was really at this point… The surprise was that at this place it was 0°0’146’’!! We searched the perfect 0 and went a little bit to the east to find it. After about 100m east we found it and funny coincidence (?) a very nice and special tree (look at the pics and find out which one it is… :)) was exactly at this place of 0°0’0’’!!!
Going to Greenwich was a very nice and interesting trip, and coming by boat on the Thames is also an interesting cruise to make… ;)
