The Foundation Maeght is a great modern art museum, located in Saint Paul de
Vence in French Riviera, France. If you enjoy Miro, Giacometti, Calder, Chagall, Braque and many more, it’s a must see.
The museum itself consists of two buildings divided by a court of Giacometti bronze sculptures of people. The collection of modern art is exhibited in rotation in specially designed rooms. There is a lovely garden where stands the Labyrinth with sculptures and ceramics by Miró and in the chapel of St. Bernard are stained-glass windows by Ubac and Braque.
The Foundation Maeght is one of the most important collections in Europe, with paintings, sculptures, drawings and graphic works from the 20th century.
Two or three big exhibitions of modern art are organized every year. The Foundation also has a fine book shop, posters and lithographs as well as postcards and a variety of other souvenirs. There’s also a small but very pleasant cafeteria.
