Día de Muertos

Tepotzotlán is a place, a little colonial town, near México City… but most important is this day. November 1 & 2, Día de Muertos, Day of the Dead; the day when people that has left us in this side of the road visits us to have a drink at our table. In fact, you can take part of the festivity at almost any place at México. One of the must important traditions on this day is the offering; it acquires different characteristics at different locations. At Tepotzotlán, some of the youngsters of the town organize a macro offering with lots of skeletons and skulls in every size and material (sugar, paper and clay).

Tepotzotlán it´s a nice colonial town, and has one of the most beautiful colonial churches in México. You can also visit the Virreinato Museum. But the day to visit it is in November 1 and 2, for the Dìa de muertos celebration. If you visit the place, you must eat a sugar calaverita (skull) and if you are lucky you could find one with your name on it. I live really near there, so I have been shooting the place for years.
