Chinatown Brenkwando (New York)

What better place for the sun to set…I like coming here to be in a different city within the bigger city that already envelops my life. Its a place that smells bad, is grimy, crowded, and unfamiliar. That’s what pulls me in.

The people do their day to day activities – buying fish, herbs, selling trinkets, that have no other purpose other than to make noise and amuse for ten seconds at a time. The small unknown back alleys and downstairs, tucked away massage parlors and karaoke bars – all add more of a sense of mystery to the place for me. On a rainy night, I can’t help but to believe that a scene from Blade Runner is unfolding nearby. This place means many things to me. But more than anything, amidst the dirt, and the stench, it’s also just another beautiful place.

Very nice! May I ask what camera you used? :)
