It must have been 1997 when I made a boat trip on river Weser with some friends and people from Ukraine for environment politic-reasons. We stopped in Hamelin and a woman from Hamelin showed us a place to eat breakfast, so we did.
Nine years later I met a nice guy from Hamelin and we wanted to go out for breakfast. I said “Let’s go there and see if the cafe is still there”. It was and I had forgotten how good breakfast is at this place! You can have it the whole day (what is something very special for such a small city and our land side).
They have incredibly good pancakes, waffle, tea, coffee and self-made cakes. Hmmm. I love cakes and they are brilliant. At least five sorts you can choose from. With cream, dry, with fruit, with nuts… Oh, and not to mention the salty food like potatoes with salmon, pumpkin-soup, lasagna…. So if you like food and stop in Hamelin, GO THERE!!!!
The most beautiful thing (and the reason why it is a Lomo-location for me) is, that there are many, many tiny little rooms full of old stuff, chairs that don’t fit to each other, lots of decoration (pots, plates,…) , candles, mirrors, lamps, old tables… You can sit in the cellar, in a small Biedermeier-room, on an old sofa and you see every time something new there.
