I always play it at church-garden in Lindhorst. They have two places there where you can play. When I started, I thought it was a quite boring game. You throw a little wooden ball they call piglet and a heavy metal ball. And wait. Till they tell you, it is your turn again. All balls look the same and I didn’t understand who is next.

Now I do! It is quite simple. You try to get as near as possible to the piglet with one of your balls (they all have different lines on their tops so you know which one was yours). If you are closer than any other player, it is their time, as long as they are closest player. If they throw and throw and don’t have any balls left and you are still closest (and are able to put more balls closer to the piglet) you will receive points (you could call them piggies to do it lomo-like) and change side to start the game from the other side. Receiving points is simple: you count all balls of one group that are the closest to the piglet. If there are any other balls nearer, you stop counting. Thinking about that location, I found a Wikipedia- entry about that game, so I tell now some facts (the non- personal part will start now)

They started with that game 490 years B.C.! More facts you can see on that page, cause it is like weights of balls, French names…(so rather boring).

You always find people there playing and you can join, they are very nice
but if there are groups practicing for competitions, they are allowed to play before you are but you can watch and learn and talk.
