Alentejo

Alentejo is a region in the south of Portugal. It is divided in “alto Alentejo” and “baixo Alentejo”, but their similarity is striking. I think this location should be posted in the ultimate LomoLocations due to its unique features.
The climate here is very dry, it rains only during
the winter time, but with the climate changes you never know! So every form of life and land is adapted! Sobreiros (the characteristic tree) rules over the landscape, the land is yellow and the sky is blue as the sea! It’s the most plane region in Portugal and you can drive for miles without coming across a single soul. The houses are all white with a typical band of colour on the floor – yellow, blue. The pictures will have a peaceful look! But if you are looking for the most beautiful beaches, with the clearest waters and the thinnest sand you can’t miss Porto Covo just south of Sines. But this fantastic town is worth a Lomo Location just for itself!
During spring Alentejo is at its best, the fields are covered with purple flowers and it’s not so hot. If you come don’t forget to have a part of the gastronomy, I guarantee you won’t leave without substantial weight gain!!
