Music… it’s all about some kind of sound which makes us happy, groovy or even moving and spinning, right? But what about the real music, the acoustic part of it? I find myself going crazy when I find the acoustic versions of my favorite POP, ROCK or even HOUSE songs. That is why I was the first to join Vilnius, Lithuanian capital, where there was the STREET MUSICIAN DAY festival. You will not hear the good known names of participants, as there were only some of them that day on the streets. Whatever, streets were filled up with people with guitars, drums and so on.

Hundreds of musicians armed with various musical instruments went onto the streets, where there were lots of places ready for the music that day. As it is the first event of the “Vilnius – European Capital of Culture programme” and the directors of the festival were famous Lithuanian artists and show-biz people, the festival just could not go wrong. What do you need to do? Just get the map (shown in one of my pictures), and follow the narrow streets of the old city. You can find different artists, from symphonic orchestra to madman’s acoustic guitar show… and so on. The festival begins at noon and ends late night, where hundreds of musician will try to do the big noise!! What camera? Does not matter! What film? Depends on the day (I had sunny day, so you can see the ISO200 film shots there). When will it take a place again? I guess, this festival will be once a year, in the beginning of May, so keep you fingers crossed and read the latest news in www.vilnius2009.lt or www.gatvesmuzika.lt and start planning your trip into the acoustic music land!!!
