Do you plan to have only a short stay in Stockholm, but still would like to see or shoot some typical Swedish country houses? Easy! You just have to take the bus 44 or the old streetcar for Skansen, in the island of Djurgården, a royal park near the centre of Stockholm.

Skansen is the oldest outdoor museum in the world: it was created in 1891 by Arthur Hazelius. You will take pictures of houses from different parts of Sweden, old church, farms, tiny wooden houses…. It is also a zoo, where you can find some sort of animals of the Big North (bears, wolves, reindeers, seals). And in the village of artisans, you could purchase Swedish traditional objects. You can spend simply a nice afternoon there, but make it better with having a picnic.

Open every day of the year, except Christmas Eve.
