Provo River

The Provo River is not necessarily located in Provo, Utah. Though it runs through the city of Provo, the most visited areas of the river are long before the river reaches the city. This river is considered one of the best trout rivers in the US, for good reasons.

It is not uncommon to land a 23 inch brown trout from the Provo.

This is one of my favorite places on Earth. My dad and I often head to the river for a day of fishing. My favorite time is right before Thanksgiving, it’s cold as can be but the browns are about to spawn and become active and the rainbow trout in the river become unusually active. I would suggest a Holga for the trip, as I have ruined a Pentax and an Ipod while trying to cross waters that are too deep and fast. The Holga is the most water proof camera that I own so it has become a good fishing buddy for me.
