Provincetown Mass USA is on the very tip of cape cod, this is the place that the pilgrims landed… then left. Later it’s weird location all the way out at the end of the land became home to all manner of pirates who did things like leave church early when they saw a ship on the rocks for plunder from the church windows, the preacher had no choice but to let them go.
Later all the great and powerful gays of America would make it their home, Walt Whitman is my favorite gay visitor but all the rest were there too, this summer I saw John Waters with all his creepy mustache riding a bike down the street. One year me and my lesbian squad shared a condo with a porn star (Johnny Harazard I think is his “business name”) … roaming the historic streets gives you plenty for your Lomo. I usually bring slide film because of all the bright gay azz colors of the queens and bulls who wander the streets but the ocean and sky as well as the Victorian homes also make those images just pop. If you are going to stay and I suggest you do go, even if you are a straightly then I suggest the Capecodder Guesthouse… free parking, baby and easy walk to the center, this place is god’s country… a fabulous god.
