Praia da Lagoinha do Leste

This beach is located on the south east side of the Island of Florianopolis. There is no road that you can take to the beach, and depending where you start it is a half mile to a mile walk to get there. You can take a little ferry boat from one of the closer more accessible beaches if that is your fancy as well.
This beach lies in a lovely little cove and there is a lovely little freshwater lake or pond behind it. The name translates to beach of the little lake of the east. So hike in either over the back side, or from the north or south along the coast from one of the beaches there. The water is shallow and the crowds are smaller than Florianopolis’s other beaches. There are no restaurants or bars on this beach so pack in what you need. There is plenty of room to camp for the night or the hike is short enough to go in and out on the same day. Of all the beaches I visited on Florianopolis, this was by far my favorite.
