Philippine Tricycle
written by cruzron on April 27th, 2008 (0 votes)

We all know (well most people) that the quintessential Philippine way of getting around is with the legendary Jeepney. However it is unavoidable that in some cases that we would need to go someplace that won’t have the luxury of space. We would require something a little more compact which is what the Philippine tricycle is all about. It is basically a cheap motorcycle (in same cases just a bicycle) welded with an aluminium sidecar.

It doesn’t sound special but these little wonders with their mystique can take you where no other car could, through all the seedy back alleys to the majestic countryside. Going rates are usually 30 pesos (2$) if you’re alone (special rate) or around 7-10 pesos (.20 cents) but you have to wait for the tricycle to be filled with the other passengers which is usually 6 persons excluding the driver before you go on your way.
