Whether you’re looking for cheap food, a culinary adventure or anything else in between look no further than your street corner! So are you hungry of thirsty? Want a snack or a full meal? Craving for something sweet or something tangy? Whatever it is you’re looking for culinary wise, you could always get with Philippine street food.
If you’re adventurous you could try the grilled favorites: Isaw (chicken and pig intestines), Dugo/Betamax (dried chicken blood, chicken feet), chicken liver and other spare parts and accessories. Doesn’t sound too appetizing but I assure you the taste is all you need for all your skepticism to be thrown out the window. You could also try out the Balut or aborted duck egg which was featured in an old episode of Fear Factor. For less hardcore eats you could try out Dirty Ice cream, which is unfairly labelled just because they peddle their goods on the streets. They usually have a variety of 3 flavors that you could mix in one cone where there are at least 3 sizes also. If you need something to quench your thirst you could get Buko Juice which would be a whole coconut with a straw rammed down at the top. The best thing about this is that the cost involved is hella cheap. For roughly a dollar that should tide you over. For $2 however, you’ll be able to buy everything you want and maybe still have something left over. So go out, shoot and eat!
