Park Stanley

One of Vancouver's prize attractions and loved by all who visit and live in the city, is Stanly Park. This is the city's largest green space and located to the west of Downtown Vancouver. Stanly Park has so much to offer. For the most part it is surrounded by the sea and meandering along the water's edge is the seawall where walkers, joggers, bikers and roller-bladders can complete a ca. 10km peripheral circuit of the park. However, you can also take advantage of the free Stanely Park shuttle service that starts mid-June and runs daily until the end of September from 10:00 am until 6:30 pm.

However, you can also take advantage of the free Stanely Park shuttle service that starts mid-June and runs daily until the end of September from 10:00 am until 6:30 pm.

The Shuttle bus had 15 signed stops, where you can jump on and off to take in the Park’s attractions. The views from the seawall around Stanely Park are spectacular and will beckon you to visit again and again. There are sandy beaches for families and swimmers, views of the mountains on the North Shore and Vancouver Island and a forest full of old second growth trees – a great place to cool down on a hot summer’s day.

Wildlife is also not far away. The park is home to a number of Bald Eagles that are often seen soaring above the shores and cliffs of the park, coyotes, skunks, all kinds of bird life and cheeky raccoons and squirrels always entertain. Also tucked away in the Parks grounds is the City’s Aquarium a favorite attraction of children and adults alike. I hope you enjoy some of my lomo pictures of my trusty bike against a backdrop of views from the seawall at Stanely Park.
