Old McDonalds'
written by marcela_cuartas on April 27th, 2008 (1 vote)

I don’t know if this is a common fact, but I ‘m almost sure that is something really unusual. My town, my dearest Cali has down McDonald’s. I am not communist or something alike but I must say that I’m very proud with this. Here was working three McDonald’s since the middle nineties approximately, but now here is none.

The local law has denied the operation licenses to the big franchise. Indeed the whole case is rounded by a mystery halo, nobody knows certainly what happened, but the most popular gossip is that about license; apparently McDonald’s tried to make new deals of payment and wages to their employees, deals which seems very unfair and the local controls says “no way!”, “or pay good or you can’t operate here anymore” and the franchise says, “okay”, “you can’t do this with us” trying to take advantage of their employers position, with issues like “if you don’t let us do it, lots of people going to loss their jobs, lots of people will be hanging on the streets totally penniless” “you choose”.

My city has always been at the top of unemployment rates in my country, and McDonald’s wants to approach this “blame” to make it work the cheaper as possible. Meanwhile this “who give up first” game has turned longer that everybody could imagine (I’m not sure but maybe began at June 2006) and I can say: it feels good. You can see that big “M” as a Christo’s piece, all covered in green plastic like a big flag of trash.
