If every time you see a Vespa you can’t avoid looking at it and enjoy its wonderful curves. Then, if you ever happen to be in Tuscany, you should go to Museo Piaggio in Pontedera, a small town near Pisa, where most of the Vespas you have seen where made.
There you will learn that they started building trains and planes, after the II World War they designed the scooter as we all know. There is almost one piece of every model they made. Even surprising models as war-Vespa (equipped with a shooting gun!), high-speed models. Piaggio also produced, a part from trains and planes, kind of helicopters, Apes (if you don’t know what an Ape is, is a mixture of scooter/car), fire-trucks (with 169 cc two-stroke engine!). In the first floor of the museum you’ll find the Gilera exhibition: competition bikes.
By the way, in your opinion… what is the best part of any museum? Yes, the shop! There you can find Vespa’s merchandising or even spare parts for your Vespa!
