Montauk

If you plan on visiting New York during the summer and want to do try something different, then I recommend Montauk. Montauk is located at the very end of Long Island. A good 4-hour train ride from good old Manhattan, but well worth it. A must stop for any beach loving lomographer.
Montauk is known for many things. Its lighthouse is a famous tourist attraction. There is an abandoned military radar facility called Camp Hero, which has various rumours about it. http://www.subversiveelement.com/CampHero.html

In 1986 Captain Frank Mundus caught a sixteen-and-a-half-foot 3,427-Pound Great White Shark! A replica of this shark is still hanging today. That shark used to scare the hell out of me when I was younger, I used to close my eyes and hide behind my parents, and now I make it a must to visit every time I’m there. Frank Mundus was the late Peter Benchley’s inspiration for the character Quint in his novel “Jaws”. “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” was filmed in Montauk. Montauk is also known for its beautiful beaches, which are great for surfing. Montauk has some really great food as well, I recommend Wok n’ Roll, the only Chinese restaurant in Montauk. Get this! They will prepare your freshly caught fish in one of many classic Chinese styles. For breakfast you have to go to either John’s Pancake House or Anthony’s Pancake and Waffle House, just be ready to wait an hour or so to be seated. Gosman’s Dock is also a must! http://www.gosmans.com/

I can go on and on I feel like a travel guide. So grab all your Lomo cameras and get going.
