Makati Central Business District

I have been working in the Makati central business district (CBD) for many years. It is known as a major financial and commercial area in Metro Manila. Many international companies have offices there. There are also many hotels, serviced apartments, inns, condominiums, restaurants, and shopping centers.
Always be discreet when taking pictures. If you’re using a large camera, most security guards in office buildings and shops would tell you that taking pictures of their establishments is not allowed. Foreign tourists usually tend to get away with it but locals like me have a harder time. Typical in the Philippines, including the Makati CBD, are ambulant vendors and vendors who hang out on sidewalks. They sell stuff such as newspapers, candies, cigarettes, corn on the cob, peanuts, fish-balls and many other things. I now live just a short distance away from my office. My neighbors are small hotels, nightclubs, and bars. Over the last few years, pedestrian underpasses, elevated walkways, and covered sidewalks have been built there. It has made life easier for people like me who love to walk. But it’s easy to take a bus or Jeepney ride there. There are three MRT stations nearby (Ayala, Buendia, and Magallanes) if you prefer to take the train.
