La Boqueria

I had a wonderful time in Barcelona. It’s one of my favorite cities. It’s a very modern city, but it’s the old part that always makes me come back. During a very hot day I was looking for some gifts to offer to my friends that stayed in Lisbon (my home town) at “Ramblas” one of the most famous sidewalks in Europe. Suddenly I found a fresh place where the colors, the smells and the flavors are different than all the other places that I visited before. The place that I am talking about is called “La Boqueria”. It’s a typical market where people can find all the kinds of fruits, vegetables, fishes and a lot off different exotic things like bugs, for example.
The market is always full of people, and it’s very difficult to walk around the selling places. At “La Boqueria” we can find all kinds of people, rich, poor, cooks, chief restaurants, housekeepers, artists, freaks …
The people that work there take good care of their spots – everything is clean and very organized. They use the products in a way that their selling places looks like a master piece, with colors and shapes perfectly ordered. They have so much pride in there places that the clients are not allowed to touch.
