Keelung is a port city in the north of Taiwan, near the capital, Taipei. Probably the easiest way to get to Keelung from Taipei is by commuter train, which ply the route every 15 to 20 minutes. It is a good place to play on weekends. You can visit Taiwan’s scenic northeast coast. The sea is so blue and clean. I enjoy the moment sitting on beach and talking with good friends. You can also see some small islands in the ocean. Keelung is near the sea, so there are many fish.
Kanziding Fish Market (Kanzihding) is the oldest continuously operated one, and largest fishery distribution center in Northern Taiwan. The market is open seven days a week from 3 am – 6 am. It is worth to get up early and to buy some fresh fish and seafood. In the evening, I went to Keelung Temple found food to eat. Throughout Taiwan, traditional snacks can be found in marketplaces and temples. These snacks are often called Miaokou snacks (snacks sold in front of temples). The snacks sold in front of Dianji Temple in Keelung have earned a word of mouth reputation and the Miaokou area has attracted more gourmets than pilgrims. Hence, this area has become a worldwide tourist attraction for tasty snacks. Keelung is very traditional and small city, and very lovely. If you have a chance to come to Taiwan, you must come to Keelung!
