The “Institut du Monde Arabe” (Institute of Arab World) is a beautiful architectural and cultural place in Paris near to the river Seine in the centre of the city. Very futuristic building, its conception was planned to be synthesis between modern European style and traditional Arabic one.

The result is really amazing, like a big vessel on the riverside of the Seine and a fascinating system in the front of the building. The whole construction is covered with what is called “moucharabieh” in Arab culture, little window systems where you can look from inside without be seen outside. It looks like giant photographic aperture systems, focusing on the people coming inside! Inside you can visit temporary and permanent exhibitions about many different themes concerning Arab civilisation and culture. You must really see this place, go upstairs and look to Paris through the “eyes” of the wall, and go downstairs to the “column room” too! :)
