This football team, in my view, is a legend. Without any achievements and success. The FC Fossombrone is playing the sixth Italian league and their games are only to be seen in the stadium and on their webpage. The story behind the team is that it was bought by the Belgian designer Dirk Bikkemberg. He turned this club around and gave it a complete make over. He designed the complete gear from socks to the under-wears and shirts. He built a new stadium with the green and the flags all designed. The jersey with the blue spiral and the white ground is the prettiest in the world. I read about this team in a German newspaper and it right away strike me, that Bikkemberg finalized the symbiosis between fashion and sport. The players of the team are also the models of Bikkemberg regular collection and star of his commercials.
Already the webpage is exploding of great visuals and the celebration of the body and the sport. When I was in vacation in the Italian Marks we wanted to find the medieval town of Umbrio, while looking at the map I discovered Fossombrone, which was nearby. We went there and I tried to find the stadium. We asked people, who gave us several contradicting descriptions. Eventually we didn’t find it, which really disappointed me. We looked it up in the internet, if this was the very town and found out, that it must have been it. We noted down the address of the fan-shop and repeated this trip in the end of the vacation. It was 200 km away, but I really wanted to go there. Getting there we found the shop, which also was a design-masterpiece. Above on my purchase of the shirt I got a bike-bottle. Finally we found the stadium and did a photo-aria, to celebrate the moment.
To get there you should take a car or a bus from nearby City Ancona.
