When one is in Singapore, there is always a strange structure looming over the horizon. Upon closer inspection this curiosity appears to be a massive architectural masterpiece that looks like one of the country’s favorite fruits, albeit its stench, the durian. The Esplanade Theaters on the Bay is built to be the focal point for performing arts in the region.
The whole ambience exudes greatness as the sun shines on each aluminum sunshade, lending a glowing aura to the building. One of our country’s most famous tourist attraction the Merlion is also nearby waiting to be lomographed. Food is also available in copious amounts regardless of your budget. Hawkers abound to give you a sample of their version of Chicken Rice while high end restaurants surrounding the area offer fresh seafood from the aquarium straight to your plate. After having your fill of gastronomic delight, unwind as you walk through the Esplanade Park, admiring the lush garden and the monuments to fallen countrymen. No visit in complete without dropping by this site. Getting around is easy with the designated stops of the MRT and Buses.
