East Cemetery

As you have read from the website this is an old azz cemetery dating back before the French and Indian War in the North American Colonies.
This cemetery is about 50 yards from my beautiful apartment so I have taken many a picture there. Here you have some panoramics and some double exposures as well as some tunnelvision ones. This is fun because the cemetery is in the English meadow style which means that back in the 1800s they put in all fake hills and moved around headstones without moving the bodies, that kind of stuff.
So famous Americans like George Washington’s African American waiter are buried here. In addition we had this crazy circus fire in Ct during WWII and some of the dead are here. We have this weird old family in our town of Manchester who basically built the town as a Utopian workers community for their silk mills. They are buried here as well, however they are buried on the side away from the “commoners” which is funny because the town’s people like to remember them as benevolent rulers who gave everything and were down to Earth people that loved the community… I went on a historic free tour of this cemetery once and some old ladies were mad that we weren’t going to see the Cheney graves and they stormed off and claimed the tour was false advertising, which I mean it was free, anyways that family obviously left when silk making went to India and they never came back, other famous Cheney’s in that family are the people who makes Tom’s of Maine toothpaste and the evil genius that is our US vice president. Come on down and enjoy the creep atmosphere.
