Dalida café is XiMenDing’s latest hippest addition to the icing of western Taipei. Dalida takes its name from a French diva, who makes regular appearances on the sound system of this Euro-style cafe. Taking advantage of its location on the square in front of the Red Theater, Dalida expands outwards with an outdoor patio and a terrace on the second floor.
They have outdoor heaters to combat any chill that should beset us in December. Inside there is intimate and warm – especially the second-story loft. It’s a cosy place to sip hot chocolate or Illy espresso with friends or while surfing the net (WiFi available). Just like in European cafes, there is something stronger on offer behind the bar. Dalida has Stella on tap and, beyond the usual cocktails, there’s sake and sangria. I always took a novel there and sat at cafe in afternoon. Sometimes I went there to have a drink with good friends. It is a right place to relax and see people pass by. Do not forget to take your Lomo Camera. The street front of the cafe is very cool and funny, because it is a most busy street in Taipei. If you want to go to Dalida cafe, you can take MRT and stop at XiMen station. This is a convenient way. Have a nice day!
