The cathedral of “Notre Dame” of Paris, in the real historical center of the city (Island of the city, on the Seine) is a world-known monument and for sure one of the most visited places by the tourists in Paris. Always a very crowded place and typical “postcard” of your stay in Paris… But to say truly, the religious gothic style of this building is really worth the visit, it’s a beautiful cathedral.
Not the highest in France, but one of those who has many different characteristics of its 2 centuries of building time (began 1163 and finished 1345). You can turn around this church, and every time it’s a different building with a lot of details from inside and outside. And the way this church is located on the island means that you see it from far away on any side of the Seine you are. So, if you like religious architecture, forget the touristy crowd and go have a look at this beautiful place.
