Bullring and Selfridges Building

The Bullring is home to two great loves in life: shopping and fine architecture. If it had nothing but camera shops held within then we would happily die there. Outside it looks beautiful and inside they sell you things to enhance your own fantastic life.

The Bullring used to be a seedy landmark with a character all of its own. They demolished that a few years ago to make way for a magnificently gorgeous landmark with a character all of its own. Just outside the shopping centre is the most magnificent bronze bull to celebrate the original bull ring which was a cattle market in the past. The market still exists nearby but it sadly no longer sells cows, instead there’s a great variety of stalls and it is where we bought our first Zenit cameras for just £15 each last summer.

The jewel in Birmingham’s crown has to be the Selfridge’s building next door to the shopping centre. From Birmingham New Street train station it looks like a giant silver peanut lying across the city. Up close it is covered in silver flying saucers which leads us to believe it is not a peanut but instead is some kind of space craft. This leads us to the most logical conclusion that it was designed by aliens,

This location holds a particular fondness in our hearts because it’s where we started our first (and only) mrspetuniazenway world tour. Birmingham is just crying out to be photographed. This is a unique place that once you’ve visited you’ll never forget.

We took all these double exposures using an LC-A with tunnel vision lens and some fancy pants other camera which obviously has some sort of built in fairy lights filter.
