Bullerdeich In Hammerbrook

The area I live in is basically not inhabited. Hammerbrook in Hamburg is an industrial- and business-territory. But there are lofts and there am I. I live in an Artists House where people live in lofts and start projects together, but this very spot will be explained in a few weeks. The main objective is the Bullerdeich: It is one fantastic secret wild park close to my flat.
Formerly it was a petrol-station for Firemen-Cars. Now it’s a vast area with lots of wild plants and the remains of that petrol station and a lonesome little yellow telephone booth, as they used to be in Germany. Nowadays we don’t have telephone booths, we have mobiles! But this booth is in the middle of no-where and an object for street art from artist out of Hammerbrook. It’s a new urban playground and one of my favorite places in Hamburg. You will have to climb over a fence, but that adds a little sugar to your trip. Don’t dig too much into the earth, because our rabbit is buried there, but this is a different story…
How to reach: Take the public train number S3 or S31 from the main station and get out one station later at Hammerbrook (City Süd). Then you go left into Wendenstrasse, after you reach the next big street Heidenkampsweg, in which you turn right. After about 3 crossroads you turn left into the Bullerdeich. And then my friend, you will have to find it yourself.
