Petzval Photos by Sarah Zanon

Sarah Zanon is a graphic design student and aspiring photographer from Toronto, Canada. Her portfolio comprises of creatively executed portraits and scenic views of places she has been to, taken at different angles and exhibiting varied moods. Some of these lovely images, not surprisingly, were shot with the new Petzval Lens.

She speaks of her love for photography on her Facebook page:

“The moment I looked into my camera eye piece, I realized that I could find magic in unexpected places. I take pictures because I love the art and seeing the outcome. I see through the lens of a camera, even when I am not looking through one and I want to share my work with the world.”

The young yet passionate photographer has agreed to share two sets of her Petzval photos through the Magazine, and provided information on the images.

Child of the Earth

“Chameleon Soul”
“Child of the Earth”
“In the Fields”
“Isolation”
“Twirl”

“Both shoots were with my very talented and beautiful friend, Orlean. The ‘Child of The Earth’ shoot was the first full shoot I did with a model and the Petzval lens. We shot at a beautiful field at sunset beside Lake Ontario in my hometown, Beamsville. The objective of the shoot was to capture innocence, freedom and a surreal tone.”

Star Child

Flowers in her Hair"
“Freedom Comes from the Call”
“Simplicity”
“Star Child”
“The Girl”
“Wherever I am..”
“With Peace”
“You’re Young You’re Wild You’re Free”

“The second, most recent shoot, was also taken in my hometown of Beamsville, Ontario. This shoot was actually unplanned, but I find that sometimes the best shots are taken spontaneously. I used the star aperture plate for these photos, hence the name “Star Child”. The subtle star bokehs heighten the original magic the lens makes and creates a beautiful atmosphere within the photos.”
