Name: Moses Lau

Location: Singapore
Please tell us something about yourself.
I was born and raise in Singapore. I am a chef in a bakery located at one of the top hotels in Singapore. There are many thing that I really like for instance music, pastry, bread making, cafe hunting, photo walk and photography. I really want to try bungee jumping, skydiving, scuba diving, and hunting at least once in my lifetime. Also, I want to travel around the world. Of course, I would bring my camera during these moments!
How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?
Well, I got my first Lomo camera as a present from my cousin. From there, I decided to know more about the Community and my desire to shoot in film eventually grow. I fell in love with the imperfections of shooting film and how it can make every photo beautiful.
As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?
Don’t worry about any rule! The freedom to shoot, anything, whatever way you like!
In this digital age, why still film?
The advancement of technology will never beat the soft grain of film. Many of my friends ask me why I prefer film over digital. And I always tell them that shooting digital is like trapping your imagination in a cage. But with shooting film, your imagination can burst out free! You can just shoot and get funky!
Your favorite analogue camera as of the moment? Why?
That will be my Seagull 4B-1. I just love how the photos come out. Pure analogue from the aperture, shutter speed, focusing, and cranking and pressing the shutter. Taking a single shot from start to end is gives me pure pleasure and desire t to take the next shot!
What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?
That will be the Horizon Perfekt. Taking panoramas is something that I really love to do.
Any song or movie you live by?
There no song and movie that I live by, but I live my life by the Bible.
Share your current favorite Lomograph, could be yours or a friend’s. Why?
This is from my first roll of 120 film with my Diana F+. I forgot to advance the film but it turned out really nice! I still love this shot even after these years.
Any Community member you look up to? If so, why him or her?
Not really have anyone in mind but will look up to anyone cause each of us have a Lomography heart.
What are you looking forward to in our Community?
To share the Lomo-experience and open new door to our imagination. I hope to learn and also share my experience with everyone. It will be really great to do photo walk with people who stay in the same city as I do.
