Then and Now: Famous Movies' Filming Locations

Have you ever wondered how some of the locations featured on your favorite old movies look now? You might want to take a look at this Then and Now series, then!

When it comes to pop culture icons, it’s always interesting to find out what has become of them a few decades since they were first introduced to the public. Among them are movies, some of them becoming so famous that even the locations featured in it have become so closely associated with them. A feature by Mental Floss puts the spotlight on the locations in nine famous films, including John G. Avildsen’s “Karate Kid” (1984), Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo” (1958), The Coen Brothers’ “The Big Lebowski” (1998), Martin Scorsese’s “Taxi Driver” (1976), and Ivan Reitman’s “Ghostbusters” (1984). It’s a little astounding how some of these places hardly changed, while on the other hand others became completely unrecognizable.
