Please tell us something about yourself.
I am 24 years old and I am already married. I work in the road building industry that`s why a lot of my photos are that of machinery and lonely landscapes.
How did you find the Community and who/what convinced you to join?
Our Community is like close friends. Nice, interesting people from all over the world with lots of cool shots. Amazing!
I found the Community with a help of a magazine called Men`s Health. That specific issue had a review on film cameras and I became curious. I found the website there which is the happiest thing in the universe!
I couldn’t buy any new film camera in our city therefore I had to settle with soviet second-hand cameras, often in non-working condition.
As you have read the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography, what rule do you apply in your everyday life?
Rule Number 6: “Don`t Think!” I usually try to have any of my film cameras ready in my car because you can never know, what, when, and where you are going to shoot.
In this digital age, why still film?
Because you usually don`t need batteries, displays, flashlights, memory cards, or electricity just to take photos. You can carry your camera as long as your film`s length. Pronounce with me: “NO RECHARGING, NO BATTERIES.” It`s so natural, so pure. You only need the mechanism of your analogue camera, your film, your eyes, your fingers, and…no brain, cause the rule is “Don`t think!”
Your favorite analogue camera as of the moment? Why?
The FED-5C, my first soviet, mechanic, film camera. My most reliable camera with full manual control and no batteries! No worries while shooting!
What is the Lomographic camera you’d want to have someday?
Belair X 6-12. I love big formats. I printed a picture taken with a Kiev-6C on a canvas. The size of a ready picture was one meter by one meter and it is magnificent!!!
Any song or movie you live by?
Mr. Oizo – Flat Beat
Share your current favorite Lomograph, could be yours or a friend’s. Why?
I`m a newcomer so I don`t have favorites, yet.
What are you looking forward to in our Community?
Just sharing pictures and emotions.
