The Lomography team is very proud of having supported the Nixon team during the six-day Nixon Surf Challenge 2014 in the Kamchatka Peninsula in Russia. The infamous Lomochrome Purple film even got the chance to meet the riders and capture some fantastic landscapes on the Pacific Ocean !
Last May, a surf team from Nixon headed up North to discover one of the most unknown regions of the world, the Kamchatka Peninsula, and take on some scary waves in the freezing ocean. Because we wanted them to have the best snaps of these precious moments, Lomography lended some cameras, films and lenses to the team photographers and surfers who were out to conquer this extremely cold location.
What’s certain is that we were thrilled to see the results when they came back from the trip ! Team Nixon’s snapshots took our breath away and took us afar, to another place and another time, without getting us out of our office chairs. The LomoChrome Purple film sure contributed to the magic of the pictures, transforming the Russian landscape into something never before seen. Discover this marvelous series of photos, oddly warmed by the purple tones of the negative film.
