Then and Now: Real Life Renditions of Banksy's Street Art

For his photo series, a British photographer recreated some murals by famed street artist Banksy with the help of some models and carefully selected props and costumes. Take a look at some of them and decide if you love the idea!

Intrigued by the work of celebrated UK street artist Banksy, accomplished news and features photographer Nick Stern sought to recreate some of his most popular stencils and murals on camera. After months of studying and noting the details of the iconic street artist’s well-known graffiti, the London-born photographer proceeded to make his photo series entitled “You Are Not Banksy” with some models, carefully selected costumes, and accurate props.

While the real-life renditions seem like a neat idea, many find it unoriginal and not as compelling as Banksy’s originals. We guess it’s one of those love it or hate it things. Take a look at some of Nick Stern’s photographic recreations and let us know what you think about the photo series:
