Midweek Music Video: (You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party) by The Beastie Boys

The Beastie Boys will school us, young ones, on how to really have blast at parties.

There’s a reason for the term “old is gold” and this music video hits it right with just one shot. Anyone who’s looking for a good time with friends on a night out of raving and thrashing parties should take a crash course from no other than The Beastie Boys.

With distinct verses and rhyme spitting that can shame any respectable rapper of the new generation, The Beastie Boys indeed showed how rap and party music is done while still partying hard. Aside from the wacky scenes, rebellion is also a recurring theme within the video and the lyrics. The Beastie Boys originally meant the song to be an anti-party theme but ended up having fans raging and partying to their beat. Well, no one can really blame them with a song as good as this.

You wake up late for school – man you don’t wanna go
You ask you mom, “Please?” – but she still says, “No!”
You missed two classes – and no homework
But your teacher preaches class like you’re some kind of jerk

Again, The Beastie Boys put their stamp on great music with a matching video that sure takes names when it comes to showing a good time on music videos. Be careful so that the pies don’t hit you on the face. Party on!
