If you have the talent (and patience) for making toasts that are both delicious to taste and delightful to look at, you can now have your art and eat it, too!
Ida Skivenes from Norway has been making meals look a little less ordinary by making edible artworks out of them. Aside from witty and creative original artworks made using various ingredients and food items (her Instagram is full of yummy food art), Skivenes has also done some drool-worthy recreations of iconic artworks for her Art Toast Project. Using toasted bread slices as her canvas, she made some delectable renditions of The Scream by Edvard Munch, Sunflowers by Vincent Van Gogh, abstract drip paintings by Jackson Pollock, Andy Warhol’s Banana album art for Velvet Underground, Frida Kahlo’s self-portrait, Bridge Over a Pond of Water Lilies by Claude Monet, and Girl with a Pearl Earring by Johannes Vermeer.
Now, on to the mouth-watering artworks. We won’t be responsible for some stomach grumbles and sudden cravings, so proceed with caution:
So, who’s hungry for a tasty and arty toast?
