When you hear or read the band name “Warpaint,” the first thought that may come to your head is an all out metal/trash fest complete with screaming riffs, a galloping bass line and double peds that are loud enough to make the Walls of Jericho come crashing down again. Well, we can’t blame you but listen to one track from the band and you know that it’s far from what you just pictured in your head.

Warpaint is an indie/psychedelic rock band from Los Angeles that has been around since 2004. You’ll be in for a surprise to see that it’s actually made up of 4 talented female musicians who offers a distinct sound that sets them apart from other all-female groups.

The music of Warpaint is brought to us by Emily Kokal, Theresa Wayman, Jenny Lee Lindberg and Stella Mozgawa. Warpaint is all about mild psychedelic rock tunes with lullaby notes and vocals that are impossible to miss. Their music will just grow on you with just a few plays of their tracks. Some notable songs in their lineup of amazingly written and composed tracks are ”Love is to Die” and ”Billie Holiday.”

We can’t force this enough, give them a listen and we’re sure that you’ll be incessantly hitting the repeat button in no time. And we also can’t blame Swim Deep for putting Jenny Lee Lindberg into one of their songs. The lady bassist is just a charmer with a guitar as she is with the mic.
