Of Camera Flashes and New Year Celebrations: My First Photo for 2014

Does it really come as a surprise that the very first snapshot I took this year captured our family’s New Year celebration?

Taken with the Horizon Perfekt loaded with Fujicolor Superia 400

For our New Year celebration, our family went to visit relatives in Rosales, Pangasinan for a few days. I brought the Horizon Perfekt and four rolls of film (two Kodak ColorPlus 100 and two Fujicolor Superia 400) to document the trip. There really isn’t much to tell about this picture; honestly, I already forgot taking this particular shot! Anyway, the woman holding a camera is my mom and the kid behind her is one of my cousins. It was my first time spending New Year’s Eve outside Metro Manila, and I must say it has been very different from our previous celebrations. Nonetheless, we all had a blast!

On a side note, I already have all the rolls processed. Thankfully, they all came out all right! But then I’ll be saving those shots for another post since I had to re-scan all the negatives – the lab failed to cut these panoramas properly! Oh, well.
