Stanley Kubrick Films a Scene while Standing on the Bed Frame Assisted by One of His Crew Members

In order to get a shot exactly as envisioned, a filmmaker (and even a photographer!) would go to any lengths just to translate it to his output. I can’t help but wonder, though, where were the ladders or stools to help Stanley Kubrick here do the job?

The photo above was most likely taken in 1955, the year when Kubrick’s second feature film “Killer’s Kiss” was released. It starred Jamie Smith, Irene Kane, and Frank Silvera, who played the roles of Davey Gordon, Gloria Price, and Vincent Rapallo, respectively, and the relationship between the three of them. Did you know that Kubrick was only 26 years old when he directed the movie?
