NASA's Earthrise: The 45th Anniversary

One of the most iconic photos of Earth recently celebrated its 45th anniversary. Have a look at a video recreating the events that led to it below!

When you have the shot of a lifetime in front of you, you just know it. In December of 1968, the crew of Apollo 8 saw a breathtaking view of Earth and knew in their hearts that what they were about to capture was something special. Below is a video recreating what happened on that particular event, complete with audio. Have a listen as the astronauts Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders, using a Hasselblad 500EL + Zeiss 250mm f/5.6 Sonnar lens, rush to get as much photos as they can during the brief moments that the Earth was in their sights.
