Lomography Milestone: Fun Times With My SprockFEET Rocket!

In this article, I want to show you the power of the friendly and fun Sprocket Rocket, one of the most amazing Lomography cameras! Before the previous summer, I never asked people to put themselves in a particular pose, especially because I love spontaneous street photography. But this time, I wanted to do an experiment and a game. This is an unconventional review of this awesome camera and a milestone for my Lomographic adventures. Read more after the jump!

During summer time, I love to stay in the park of my city Como, situated in the North of Italy and on the shores of one of the most beautiful lake of my country. This lake was the setting for the famous novel “The Betrothed” by Alessandro Manzoni, and the city is a summer destination for many tourists from all over the world! So, this is a nice place for a sunbath and to know new friends!

This was a wonderful sunny day, one of the first day of the year for a nice sunbath. I love the joy of taking off socks and shoes to taste the freedom of being barefoot in the fresh green grass!

Of course, I always take with me a film camera. This time a wonderful Sprocket Rocket with a Fuji Superia 400 film roll inside it!

Next to me there was a young Polish tourist with her boyfriend. We started talking and chatting, and after a few minutes I got an idea: why not try a “play on words” to put in pictures? I asked her, “Do you know this camera? It is called ‘Sprocket Rocket.’ Would you help me make a pun? I would like photograph your feet and call this series ‘SprockFEET Rocket.’” With a hug, a smile, and she quickly agreed!

This camera is really great for communicating with people, enabling you to approach strangers in a really cool and simple way!

Many other people were attracted by this unusual camera and smile when I took a photo of them!

I used the nice LomoLab service to develop and scan these photo!

After receiving the scans, I made some crops on the photos, because I prefer the square format.

I like taking pictures of outer human body parts, like feet, hands, and eyes (no nudes). I like the words of Italian model Eva Riccobono, which goes like: “A lot of men like feet, and also I like them. They don’t make me think about sex, but tenderness. These body parts are so childlike, intimate.” Happy SprockFEET!

The Sprocket Rocket is the first wide-angle camera dedicated entirely to sprockets. And with dual winding knobs for easy multiple exposures, there is no limit to your analogue creativity with this panoramic wonder. See the Sprocket Rocket in our Shop!
