Midweek Music Video: A Long December by Counting Crows

Dust off the snow from your shoulders and reminisce old memories with Counting Crow's "A Long December."

It sure is getting chilly this time of year and we’re digging this song from Counting Crows. This music video for “A Long December” is a slow tune for the band that brought us happy, upbeat melodies like “Accidentally in Love” and “Big Yellow Taxi”. The theme for the video is all about the cold – not to mention relationships ending and the prospect of a long cold month. Lead singer Adam Duritz’s vocals add a certain smoothness to the song to mellow the kick of the message.

The music video is all about winter and snow. Everything cold, you might say and it’s fitting now since we’re celebrating winter here at Lomography! Forgive the promotion and let’s get back to the video, Courtney Cox is featured on the video as well as several photographs – blurred and still melancholic if you ask me. The good thing about this video is that certain feeling of nostalgia about the closing year while still keeping an open mind to promise of the months ahead.

Go ahead and give the song a listen. Dust off the snow and let the Counting Crows serenade you to fast approaching December.
