In this feature, we’ll be looking at some of the photographs by young American photographer Margaret Durow!
Durow just turned 24 last November 2 and is based in Madison, Wisconsin. Unlike most photographers who take up art-related courses in college, she actually majored in two science courses namely Biological Aspects of Conservation and Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She is currently employed as an intern at the Wisconsin State Herbarium.
It was in 2007 when Durow started with photography, and has participated in group exhibitions beginning in 2009. Her work has also been featured in magazines not only in the US but also in Canada and across Europe.
In an interview with Positive Magazine, Durow revealed that she shoots not only in analogue but also digital. “I love film because the photos look how something felt, I love digital because I can take a lot of photos,” she was quoted to have said. She owns a Canon T3 and a Canon AE-1.
