Pin-up Cut and Paste Madness by Handiedan

Who would have thought that pin-up girls and collage art would make such a wonderful combination? Amsterdam based artist and collage maker extraordinaire Handiedan meticulously intertwines the lush and sexy pin-up vibe with insanely detailed cut and paste processes and modern artistic style. Read on to know more about the artist and her works.

Having been featured on exhibits throughout the world, Handiedan art and signature style is getting attention due to its inherent intricacy and creative take on collage making. Her beautifully executed works feature the pin-up girls popularized in the 1930s with an added kick of hand cut pieces and patterns using different media.

Hanneke Treffers, more famously known as Handiedan uses different world currency in her collages that add a certain look and feel to them as well as papers from different countries to extend the intricacy of its look. Aside from that, she also uses stamps, post cards, sheet music and playing cards in her works. Her detailed and unique cut and paste process lends a certain depth to her work and the distinct hand drawn tattoos of the lovely pin-up girls provide a stark finish for a more personal flair. The highly detailed works are then put into frames that add sophistication to the series.
