Alfred Hitchcock Stands on a Ladder while Dumping Water over Ross Bagdasarian’s Head with a Watering Can

Err… Perhaps the great film director thought his Songwriter was a plant?

The photo above was taken at the set of Hitchcock’s 1954 suspense crime film “Rear Window”, in which Ross Bagdasarian played the role of the Songwriter. Grace Kelly, Wendell Corey, and Thelma Ritter also starred in the film. Many regard “Rear Window” as among the best films to have been directed by Hitchcock, and for good reason: one of its acclaimed achievements was to be inducted to the US National Film Registry in 1997, along with other highly-acclaimed films like “Ben-Hur” (1926) and “West Side Story” (1961)!
